Harmony Administrator Embarks on Navy Adventure

Harmony Public Schools would like to thank the U.S. Navy for inviting STEM Activity Director Levent Sakar to be a Distinguished Visitor during a tour on the USS Nimitz, the largest warship in the world. Sakar was nominated by Dr. Lt. Diana Tran-Yu and Senior Chief Therese Rogers, from Navy City Outreach - Southwest Region for his work as a STEM Educator and promoting the Navy’s STEM programs.

Sakar flew to the Naval Air Station North Island near San Diego to the USS Nimitz via a Navy C-2 Greyhound. He stayed two days on the carrier where he received tours, briefings, and observed flight operations.

“There are so many physics concepts to experience on the carrier,” Sakar said.
