Five HSI Katy Students Compete for their Campus

Five students at Harmony School of Innovation in Katy are giving traction to their talents by submitting a painted pair of shoes to the eighth annual Vans Custom Culture art competition for a chance to win a trip to Los Angeles, California, and $50,000 for their campus art program.

More than 3,000 schools across the nation participate in this competition which asks students to create the most artistic and inventive design on a pair of black Vans. If a teacher registers their class to compete, students are provided with four pairs of blank Vans shoes, which they use to represent the four themes of the Vans’ “Off the Wall” lifestyle: action sports, arts, music and local flavor.

Vans employees choose the top 50 schools as semi-finalists, but the public chooses the top five who go to Los Angeles for a celebrity judge event to choose the winner.

Stay tuned to help our students win!
